TONJ, South Sudan — The transfer window just got heated! Experienced and commanding defender Yol J., currently on the books of Deng Nhial FC, is at the centre of a fierce tug-of-war between Tonj football heavyweights, with Genyanyuon FC and ambitious newcomers Red Flames FC battling for his signature.
Sources confirm that Deng Nhial FC, who finished bottom of the Tonj South Football Association (TSFA) table with only 10 points and were relegated alongside Kuei FC, have reluctantly decided to cash in on their prized asset to raise funds ahead of next season.
Yol J., known for his imposing presence, aerial dominance, and no-nonsense defending, carries vast experience, having previously played for both LG FC and Kangaroo FC in Kakuma, Kenya. His reputation as a rock-solid defender has made him one of the most sought-after names this transfer window.
⚽ The Battle: Genyanyuon FC vs Red Flames FC
Front-runners Genyanyuon FC, who finished fourth in the TSFA Division One and boast numerous trophies and a decorated history, had already tabled a serious bid for the towering defender. Many believed the deal was close to being finalized — until Red Flames FC entered the race.
Red Flames FC, co-founded by Malok Mading, popularly known as Coach Dinho, have now thrown a spanner in the works. Sources close to the player reveal that Yol J. favors a reunion with his former Kakuma colleague, giving Red Flames a huge advantage in negotiations.
Despite Red Flames FC preparing for life in the Second Division, Yol J.’s personal connection to Coach Dinho and the club’s bold project appear to be tipping the scales.
“Yol knows himself well with Coach Dinho — they go way back to Kakuma days. The player believes in Red Flames’ vision,” a source close to the player told TSFA Insider.
⏳ Genyanyuon FC at Risk of Missing Out
Should Red Flames successfully hijack the deal, it would be seen as a major statement of intent by the ambitious newcomers, while a blow to Genyanyuon FC, who have been eager to reinforce their defense ahead of another title push.
The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days, with both clubs preparing improved offers as Deng Nhial FC looks to maximize the fee.
